DIY Pleat Bottom Self Drafted Ankara Dress

Hi Lovelies, Hope you all had a beautiful Thanksgiving.

I made this dress a few years ago, 2013 precisely. It is a self-drafted dress using a bodice I made in one of the sewing classes I took at MCTC. I really did struggle making this bodice pattern then but it’s amazing how I’ve grown through the years and how it’s much easier for me to draft a pattern.

I added pleats around the bodice and also used a solid color fabric in between the bodice and the pleat.

This picture was taken in the summer but I never got to posting it before now. The last photo is me wearing the same dress 5yrs ago in 2013.
