DIY V9315 – Crop Top -Sew-Along And Review

Hey Lovelies, I’m so excited about this top. It’s Vogue 9315. I’ve seen different varieties of this pattern being sewn and I really love them all which motivates me to buy one.

Going through my fabric stack I noticed this African print cotton wax fabric which was a remnant from a previous dress I made and right away I know that was the fabric I was going to use.

Here are what I love about the pattern. First, the long sash which you could wrap around twice in each direction. Second, the peplum sleeves and Third the crop is shaped perfectly.

PATTERN MODIFICATIONS

Checking other blogger’s recommendations, I decided to

  1. Add 1.5 inches to the length of the top but it was still a bit short for me so next time I will be adding 2 or 2.5inches.
  2. I raised the neck by 1.5 inches because of my triple D cup.
  3. I added 3 inches to each sleeve peplum and increase the length by 1.5 inches.
  4. I added lining to the front and back bodice.

Going through the pattern, I do recommend the pattern and I think I could easily turn it into a dress.

I did a sew-along video for the pattern which is the video above.

DIY Simple 5mins Summer Dress

Hey Lovelies, How is your weekend. Here is a simple summer dress I made a few months ago.  It’s so simple you could easily put it together within 5mins.

I got the fabric from Joann Fabric Here and all I did was just join one piece together and added straps to it. I made a similar dress a few years ago Here

It’s so simple that I plan on making several more of this dress in different fabric designs.

I did a little modification on it which I explained in the video sew along.

How To Make a 3D Mask With No Pattern

Hello Lovelies, Happy New Month. I hope you all had a great weekend.

I haven’t posted for a while because of my classes, but I’m done with most of my class so, here I am. If you follow me on YouTube, I have uploaded several tutorials, which I will be sharing with you soon.

I made this 3D mask last year during the pandemic. It was requested by one of my subscribers so, I decided to do a tutorial on it. It’s a bit easy to make. I used an African print cotton wax fabric (Ankara)  for the outside of the mask and light cotton for the lining.  I also used fusible interfacing to wedge in between for protection.  I uploaded the tutorial on how to make it to my youtube channel. The video is also added below.

Let me know what you think.

DIY Simple Kimono Top – Freehand

Hi Lovelies, Recently I’ve been trying to get back to sewing. It has always been my therapy when I have so much going on around me and I need to think or when I need a space to myself.

Last week, I made this simple kimono top. It took me less than 30min to finish it. It was that simple.

I used an Ankara fabric I bought the last time I was in Nigeria. I love the fabric color and combination. If you’re interested in making the kimono top, you can give it a try and let me know how it goes. Youtube tutorial Here
