DIY Print Skirt and Top – Review S1425

Merry Christmas to you all. Hope Santa was good and able to fulfill a lot of wishes this year. How did you all spend your Christmas?

Well, I got the most surprise from Santa this year. I’ve been dreaming to upgrade my camera for a while but my pretty pocket wasn’t really cooperating with me :).

Viola my dream came true this Christmas. I got a Nikon D7000 Yay. Phew, it was way more than what I was expecting. LOL, I bet my kids are in trouble. 🙂

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago, I self-drafted the skirt and I used S1425 for the top which I reviewed below. I’m still learning fabrics and I think the fabric I used for the top is a mixture of polyester/silk/cotton blend. I’m really not a fan of silk, it wrinkles in secs so if you will be using this type of fabric, be careful it’s just like silk.

Oh, the color of the top is close to Pantone’s new color of the year Marsala. Very warm color, I like it.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and please drink responsibly

Pattern Review

Pattern Description: Simplicty 1425 View A

Fabric Used: Cotton/Polyester/Silk

Pattern Size: 10

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Kinda

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern is very simple and I like the variety. The sizes are a little bigger so watch out when cutting the pattern.

Pattern alterations or any design you made? I used the center front of bodice view D, I also convert the bodice bottom pleats to gathers. The pattern has an open back that is joined only by ribbons. I added a zipper to the back.

Would you sew it again? Yes I will sew it again but will be sewing the view C

Would you recommend it to others? Yes
