Bringing The 80s Back – DIY Vintage Dress – B5982 Review

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend. It’s 14 days into the year already and the year is flying by so fast. Hope your new year resolutions are on the check:).

The weather is so crazy here in Minneapolis, last week was so freezing cold the temperature could barely make it to 2 degrees. We finally got to 21 degrees today and yeah it feels like spring already. LOL I can only wish right?.

In the pictures below, I’m wearing a simple vintage dress I made a few weeks ago. I used B5982 pattern for it with simple alterations. I reviewed it below.

Pattern Review:

Pattern Description: Butterick 5982 Misses View C

Fabric Used: Cotton/Wax blend – African Print

Pattern Size: Size 10/12.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern is very simple with no difficulty at all. I like that I could easily add to the length and make it maxi or midi and I could also shorten the length to a mini.

Pattern alterations or any design you made? I did a full interface of the dress with a lighter cotton. and I also gathered all the back instead of leaving a little space like the front.

Would you sew it again? Yes, I will sew it again in a different length.

Would you recommend it to others?  I recommend it.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today
